KLIM - Layering Technology
Stay warm with KLIM Layering Technology
Wearing layers is often the best way to achieve the right heat balance. Layering traps a protective mass of warm air around you - a great way to ward off the cold. It also makes it easy to adjust your clothing to your level of activity. If you get too warm, just open your jacket or pit zips or take off a layer of clothing. It's that simple. KLIM wear’s Layering System is composed of three main categories:
Base Layer
Designed to go next to your skin. This layer is built with moisture wicking materials that wick moisture away from the skin keeping the rider dry. Staying dry creates comfort which allows you to ride longer and harder with less fatigue.

Mid Layer
This layer is designed to control heat. Like the base layer, the mid layer is made from synthetic materials [polyester fleece] which will not hold onto moisture like cotton, and will transport moisture away from the body. Put this layer on if you start cooling down or take it off if you start to warm up. This layer is designed so that it can be easily put on or taken off depending on the level of activity and the outside conditions.

Outer Layer
This layer is comprised of waterproof breathable materials (GORE-TEX®) which are designed to allow moisture to exit the clothing while not letting moisture from the outside come in. Both waterproofness and breathability are essential to the layering system.

Insulated Outer Layer
To accommodate aggressive riders who are increasingly riding in harsher conditions and at higher speeds, our insulated outer layers add built-in insulation to augment the mid layer thermal retention properties. Klim gear's Thinsulate™ Insulation is used to give maximum insulative capabilities while minimizing bulk.
