Q: How do I know when it's time to sharpen or replace the blades on my ice auger?

A: If you?re auger isn?t cutting through the ice as fast as it used to, there?s a good chance you need to sharpen the blades. Here at Up North Sports, you have the option of purchasing a blade sharpener along with your auger so you can stay on top of keeping your investment working properly. If your blades have seen better days, you can purchase replacements, such as the 10-inch size blades from Ion. Just be sure to properly reinstall the blades, or your auger won?t cut through the ice correctly.
