Yes this jacket is built for cold northern rides with a strong warmth rating. Pair it with proper base layers and you can handle long days in freezing temps without feeling like a frozen fish stick.
HydrX 5K offers solid waterproof protection for snow and light rain. It keeps you dry during most winter conditions unless you plan to roll around in slush puddles for fun which we do not recommend.
It does a great job balancing warmth and airflow. Between the breathable membrane and zip vents you can dump heat when working hard so you stay comfortable instead of sweaty and chilled later.
The hood is fixed but fully adjustable. It is designed to move with you and seal out wind without flapping around like a flag when you hit the throttle.
The 300D polyester shell is tough enough for trail abuse and everyday wear. Add in reinforced construction and quality zippers and you have a jacket that can take a beating and keep coming back for more.
