I was just about to order a hat online from another website, whenIi noticed the shipping would take too long. When I called their customer support the woman was super rude to me and made it very clear that I wouldn't recieve my hat before Christmas Eve (my brother's birthday, whome the hat was for.) I searched again and found the same hat on your website. When I called your customer support the woman on the phone was sooo nice and accomidating. She took my order right then and there and I recieved an email conformation before we even got off the phone. She said she would be packing it in a box right away and woud ship it today in order for me to recieve it within the next day or two. She also didn't even have to charge me extra! She was sooo polite and helpful and I really wanted to thank you, and he,r for a wonderful shopping experience during the holidays. Christmas can make people in retail and sales grumpy and impatient and she was the complete opposite. My order number is 1324304883 if that helps you identify who helped me. I wanted to commend you living up to your word of “outstanding customer service” (quoted from your website). My husband and I have both been very satisfied with our recent dealings with “Up North Sports”.
We first met you at the “Outlaw Grass Drags” in Princeton. We first were pulled in by your jacket clearance rack, my son found one he fell in love with, the older boy of course had to have a Klim jacket. I decided to look around for myself, “JUST LOOKING”. I tried the women’s Klim bibs on asked you the price and you told me the show price, $3--- (something) then realize my kids had already purchased things and gave me a better price of $263. I had spent my cash on the kids and asked if you would honor the price at Hay Days and you said you would. When I asked your name so I would know who to talk to at Hay Days you said don’t worry we’re all family, I thought that was just an expression. I walked out and talked to my husband, he had some cash left gave me the money and I went back. When we got to the register the computers were down you asked “mom would you write the sale up” ? I thought wow they actually are a family business, cool. I was very impressed with your attention to the customer and exceptional people skills, you were genuine and that was refreshing!!
While we were at Princeton my husband had tried on Tech Vests and helmets, not able to purchase them at the time. Hay Days weekend I gave him money for his birthday to buy both items, I suggested he try and find “Up North Sports” since they were good to us at Princeton. When he left to go “shopping” he told me he was going to one of your competitors, a dealer we stop at often since they are near us. My husband came back to our swap tent later very pleased!! I figured he had been to your competitor he told me no he found Up North Sports, he talked to them a bit and mentioned we saw them at Princeton and had bought jackets for the boys and Klim bibs for me. My husband said that salesman remembered us and gave him a great deal, we were both pleased/impressed!
My husband is a contractor in business for himself so I like supporting family business, any time I can I will! One of your competitors is 30 miles from us so it is convenient to “stop in” but they are not “personal”. The employees are nice but don’t always give the genuine attention you did in both our encounters! (Princeton & Hay Days). When we are at either of the swaps I will definitely seek you out if I am looking for something. In the mean time if there is something I wish to order you would be first on my list to check!
I apologize for the lengthy story but wanted who ever reads this to understand how you gained our business and hopefully to pass it on to the young man that helped us. The outstanding customer service and genuine concern has gained you a family of customers! In business word of mouth can go a long way, I have not hesitated to pass your name on when talking about our purchases!
